Proposal Acceptance

  • Customer submit NEM documents

NEM Application

  • Solartech produce engineering drawings
  • Solartech submit NEM application to SEDA
  • SEDA approve NEM application
  • Customer receive NEM certificate

Payment & Installation

  • Solartech share invoice
  • Customer make full payment

Testing & Commissioning

  • Solartech submit NEM meter application to TNB
  • Customer clear outstanding TNB bill
  • TNB replace meter
  • Customer receive NEM welcome letter
  • Solartech turn on the system

  • After TNB commissioning, you’ll get a Solaris rebate email

How to Claim SolaRIS

Verify Your Eligibility Confirm that you’re a TNB Residential Customer under Tariff A and a first-time NEM Rakyat applicant. The SolaRIS rebate is designed for Malaysian citizens embarking on their solar energy journey.

Partner with Solartech, an authorized solar PV system provider, can ensure a smooth installation process, guaranteeing our system meets all the requirements for the SolaRIS rebate.

Submit Your Application After the installation, apply for the SolaRIS rebate through the official channels provided by TNB. Our team at Solartech will guide you through every step of this process.

Receive Your Rebate Once your application is approved, the rebate amount, calculated at RM1,000 per kWac up to RM4,000, will be credited directly to your local bank account.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the SolaRIS initiative?

A government incentive offering rebates to residential customers in Malaysia who install new solar photovoltaic (PV) systems; aims to boost the country’s renewable energy capacity and reduce carbon emissions.

Available to TNB Residential Customers under Tariff A, first-time NEM Rakyat applicants from 1 April 2024 onwards, and Malaysian citizens.

Install a solar PV system through an authorized provider like Solartech and then apply for the SolaRIS Rebate Program through channels provided by TNB.

Based on your Declared Installed Capacity (kWac), with RM1,000 per kWac, up to a maximum of RM4,000.

After installation and commissioning of the solar PV system under the NEM Rakyat Program, the rebate will be deposited into the customer’s local bank account, subject to the terms and conditions of the SolaRIS program.
